Word Sleuths (wordsleuths.com) is a multiplayer word game. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the site, you agree to this policy.

• Gameplay data — a display nickname, room codes you join or create, in-game messages, guesses, and scores while you play. This is stored on our servers so the game can run in real time.
• Device and browser data — standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, collected automatically when you connect to the site or API.
• Local storage on your device — we save your nickname, recent rooms, and (if you sign in) an account token in your browser's local storage so you can return to rooms easily.
• Google account sign-in (optional) — if you choose "Sign in with Google," we receive basic profile information from Google (such as your Google account ID and email) to sync your room list across browsers. Google's use of your data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Advertising and cookies

We use Google AdSense to show ads on the home page. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted.

Data retention

Game and room data is kept while a room is active and for a reasonable period afterward for operations and abuse prevention. Data in your browser's local storage remains until you clear it or sign out. You can remove saved rooms from the home page at any time.
